Fundamental Skills

The first 20 minutes of every practice should be spent on handling the ball, getting up shots, changing speeds, working under pressure and everything the kids need to become more comfortable with the ball in their hands.

Dribbling

Start on the baseline, pound it 20 times with the right hand, 20 times with the right hand. Progress to crossover pounds. Through the legs. In place and slowly up the court.

shooting

This should be a natural progression to dribbling in for a layup. Important how you teach the kids to set up in triple threat facing the hoop, jab stepping and go. Over exagerate the moves at first. Don’t let the kids rush through.
